Description
Kofi, our lovely, quiet and gentle boy is still waiting patiently for his forever home.
Kofi has been in foster with me since April 5th in the Conwy Valley, North Wales, and I have to say, he has been one of the easiest dogs I have had the pleasure of fostering.
He is currently living with 3 other dogs, different ages and sizes, one of which is particularly grumpy but Kofi won him over in record time.
Kofi is from northern Greece. The village he lived in is known for being particularly hostile to the street dogs but he survived. It's been 5 1/2 - 6 years, having been born on the streets and never having anyone to look out for him. He has the physical scars to show for a tough life so far and his reserved demeanour on meeting him initially gives us an indication of the cruelty he suffered in this village.
Having said that he is still willing to trust. I am constantly amazed by the fortitude of these abused dogs.
Kofi has very quickly realized just how wonderful living in a house with a family is.
He has been completely clean in the house, he loves a bed and should be called Goldilocks as he thoroughly enjoys trying out everything that looks comfortable.
He enjoys his food very much and shows no sign of food aggression whatsoever. I would say without doubt his favourite thing is definitely his walks. He LOVE LOVE LOVES walks and is a pleasure to take out. Kofi could walk all day or enjoy the shorter daily walks I give him. Once home he will select his bed (usually the one in the sunshine ) and then just snooze the day away.
He hasn’t learnt the pleasure of toys yet, maybe he will maybe he won’t.
We have had a few visitors and he has learnt this usually means extra cuddles. On the whole our home is quiet. A busy bustling home would, I think, overwhelm this quiet and peaceful boy. He would be happy as an only dog or with the company of others. He hasn’t been tempted to play as yet, that may come but his life has changed beyond all recognition; I think he is just enjoying the peace and security living in a home has given him.
When visiting the vet, he was the perfect patient, such a brave and trusting boy.
I have only found one thing Kofi does not like...CATS. I have 2 cats and thought maybe he would get used to them but it’s a definite no!!! So for anyone who wants to keep cats out of the garden, Kofi is your natural cat deterrent.
Kofi has shown no interest in either the hens or the sheep.
So to sum Kofi up:
He is about 5/6 years old
Neutered
Fully inoculated
Tested and free of all Mediterranean diseases
Medium sized 26kg
Good with dogs, hens and sheep
Clean in the home
No food aggression
Calm quiet nature

An all round great dog.
